Nesting FAQ

Construction: Our quality promise.  Made in the USA. Family owned manufacturing company in North Carolina.

Our furniture makers place a great deal of importance on the traditional craft skills and materials which have been the hallmark of fine upholstery for hundreds of years. We also embrace the principles of sound construction, fine tailoring and individuality within our pieces.

Frames

Essential to a quality piece of upholstered furniture is the frame. We begin with select hardwoods that have been properly seasoned and dried for extra durability, and reinforce all stress joints with dowels and corner blocks. This sound construction provides the foundation for the long life of each piece.

Eight-way hand-tied suspension

In our seat spring construction we honor the traditional method of individually hand-tying steel coil springs at eight points so they can move independently. This method creates even comfort and long lasting support. In many of our backs, we use sinuous steel wire springs for support and comfort. On pieces where the design prohibits coil springs, we will use strap webbing interwoven in two directions.

Seat cushions

Our cushions are Spring Down with coil springs in Ultracell foam, wrapped in down, feathers and fiber, channeled in down proof ticking.

Back cushions

Our back cushions are a 25/75 mixture of down and waterfowl feathers that is then mixed with polyester fiber. The filling is then blown into a down-proof ticking that is channeled to prevent fill migration.

Down Allergies?

If you or yours are allergic to down, we have a synthetic solution. Seat cushions are made from high-grade polyurethane foam, wrapped in densified polyester fiber and encased in a non-woven fabric ticking. The back cushions are 100% polyester fiber that is blown into a non-woven fabric that is channeled to prevent migration of filling material. Tell your Nestpert you prefer our hypoallergenic option when completing your order details. There is no additional charge for the down-free option.
