Philosophy

PhilosophyLiving and working in the District, interior designer Liz Levin developed her own modern and eclectic style. Working with clients in studio lofts to first homes, Liz practiced her art of weaving people’s lives and aspirations into beautifully functioning interiors.

A new mom, she experienced firsthand the obstacles the design-challenged face when trying to live stylishly with children. As she pondered her vintage chrome and glass coffee table, her toddler daughter Julia teetered perilously nearby. Great-grandmother’s reupholstered white chairs were just a blank canvas awaiting that rogue tube of lipstick. This all had to go!

Employing her hands-on experience with clients, Liz began to redesign her own living space into something not only able live up to her designer reputation, but to whatever young Julia could throw at it. Enter Nesting.

While reorganizing her own life plus baby, Liz found fellow friends and new mommies suffering from the same style dilemma of salvaging their style while surrounded by safety gates. Where to source child-friendly and adult-looking furnishings? Not one single comprehensive option presented itself.

Enter Liz Levin Nesting, a collection of unique custom and high performance furnishings designed with hip families in mind and made available to everyone. Liz Levin Nesting catalogues Liz’s top picks of favorites successfully used with families – from round edge resin tables to cutting edge stain-resistant upholstery- with open design access for all. Woven into Nesting’s catalogue are Liz’s helpful design tips where she reveals the special powers of each piece and ways to use them with confidence and style.
